When should I place my order?

To determine when to place your order, we’ve put together a simple chart to help keep you on track. If working with a calligrapher, you may want to inquire about their turnaround time for your project(s) in order to avoid any rush charges. In this case, you may need to place your orders in advance of the dates listed below.

We can provide a detailed production schedule at the time your first invoice is delivered.
It includes all due dates, printing times and delivery estimates.

Save the Dates:
We encourage save the dates are sent out anywhere from 6-9 months before your event date. For holiday weekends or destination events, you may wish to consider mailing 12 months out. This will provide your guest plenty of time to make the necessary arrangements in order to celebrate with you.

Invitations:
We recommend mailing invitations 6-8 weeks prior to your event date. Orders typically ship 6-8 weeks after your files have been sent to print.

Wedding Day Accessories and other Printed Goods:
Accessories and day-of materials should be ordered either with your save the dates or invitations to avoid being subject to additional design fees.

Please let us know your need by date to make sure we provide you with all final pieces on time. Our goal is to deliver any day of accessories no later than one week prior to your event date.

What can I expect to spend?

This is a tricky question but probably the one we are most often asked by new clients. Your budget will ultimately determine the best printing method / paper choice for your order.

For 100 pieces, wedding invitations range from $2,200 - $4,500. The cost is determined by the quantity, printing technique, number of inserts / colors and paper selections. Save the dates begin at $400 for 100 pieces.

In order to provide you with an accurate estimate, it’s helpful to know if you have a set budget for your wedding stationery. This helps us determine options you may choose to consider based on your available budget.

How many pieces should I order?

In order to get an accurate count of your order needs, a good rule of thumb is to determine the number of invitations that need to go to each household on your guest list.

When placing your ordering, we strongly recommend you order more pieces than you need in the event you may need additional pieces at a later date. We cannot guarantee the availability of any extra pieces for any portion of your order. Regular charges will be applied for any items that may need to be reprinted.

All of our invites are available to order in multiples of 25. We provide an additional 15 envelopes for all invitation orders in case of addressing or calligraphy mistakes.

ink colors

For letterpress printing, we offer a range of 27 standard ink colors. Custom mixed inks are available for $50 per color / per order.

Please note, that inks are intended to match the PMS chip when wet on a Fluorescent White Paper. The ink color you choose will dry to a slightly varied shade and will depend on the color of the paper printed upon.

For digital printing, there is no limit to the colors available. Choose from our color chart to help get you started or send us something as a reference to match. We will do our best to match that color as closely as possible. However, we cannot guarantee an exact match.

can you suggest wording ideas?

Sure thing. We first recommend you take a look at Crane Papers online guide to wedding invitations. It provides examples for standard invitations and will help you get started.

We can help guide you in particular with any special situations: divorced parents / Jewish ceremonies, etc. Just let us know in detail what you need assistance with so we can provide the most relevant information.
