A Big Announcement

I've been dying to announce this for quite some awhile, nearly 5 and a half months and think it's finally the right time to spread the big news.

So without putting it off any longer...

"We're Expecting!!!"

I've hated being secretive about this for so long but took a little longer than we anticipated to get in touch with our family and friends. Plus we wanted to make sure things were going smoothly since this is our first child.

Baby is doing great and I'm just about 21 weeks along now. I was really lucky not to experience any morning sickness and the biggest bonus is that my hair and nails have never looked better! We've decided not to find out the sex which I thought would be so difficult being the planner that I am, but it's helping me not to stress out too much which has been really key to keeping my emotions and excitement under control.

There'll be some big changes also around here, not so much on the blog itself, but I'm hoping to focus my energy on custom stationery products and invitations moving forward. I've always wanted to be able to work from home while having a family and being there for my kids, so keeping my work-life balance more manageable will be key.

Keep a lookout as we roll out some changes to the website. The services page and portfolio are in the process of being updated with all the great projects that have been keeping me too busy to blog for the past few months!

Lastly, I just want to thank you for being patient with me as I enter this next phase in life. I've had so much support from family and friends these past few months. It's really important for me to be able to share some of my personal experiences on my blog. I promise not to make too much mention to the little one or the baby plans, but here and there you might find some kid-centric DIY project ideas and eye candy. It's all coming full circle and I'm very excited and proud to share such joyous news with all of you.

Fabric Printing Made Easy

Have you heard of Spoonflower? If not and you are a crafter or DIY maven, this site is a great resource for printing your own fabrics. Available in 7 weights, Spoonflower will take your designs and turn them into beautifully printed quilting cotton, linen, silk or twill weight fabric.

Owl / Nautical print / Colorful calendar / Folk Pattern / ABC's

You simply upload your artwork, select your fabric weight, yardage needed and in about 8-9 days your fabric will end up on your doorstep ready to use. You can order swatches of their standard weights or get a sample of your print to ensure the colors are exactly what you had in mind. So cool!!

Peacocks / Travel Tags / London Print

I love that they also cater to designers - in fact, creativity pays off here since if you use your own artwork, Spoonflower provides a nice little discount on each yard. Great pre-fab prints and designs are available on their website so if you have a favorite blogger or crafter who does a lot of fabric work, search for them on the site and see if you can order a few yards of their work.

One of my favorite designs on the whole site just had to be this Tatooed Doll Couple by Heidi Kenny. I found some pix of the competed dolls on her Flicker account. So clever!

Yard pricing ranges from $18 - $32.
