I'm so excited to share this invitation suite with you. Katie and I have known one another for a few years now, we met back in the day working at WWD and after she left to start her own business, I shortly followed and spent more time as a designer with her company. So when she got engaged to Matt and asked me to work on her wedding invitations, I was super excited!
We blogged a few months back an inspiration board of this project, and now, here's the final result.
Married in April, right around the time of Easter, we decided to play up the magenta color and paired it with gold for a very refined look. The fonts used for their names, Compendium lends the look of custom calligraphy.
The invite and reply card was edged in magenta and the reception card was printed on contrasting stock (don't you adore this color???) with gold ink and a matching gold edge. The final result is super refined but also a little fun.
To compliment the invites, we also designed a matching ceremony program (shown above). The cover was printed on a shimmery paper stock to pick up the gold from the invites. The back side of the programs featured the Irish Blessing, a nod to their heritage, which was played a key role in designing their own custom crest.
For the day-of details, we worked on a welcome kit for out of town guests, escort cards and table name signs featuring photos of Katie and Matt and named after places where they shared a special memory.
