small gifts

This week the UPS man is completely hating on me. It's been delivery-after-delivery-after-delivery. John says I should bake him a muffin to make up for all the schlepping.

Anyhow, today I discovered something very unexpected along with my usual delivery - a package from one of my oldest and dearest friends. It includes one of the holiday cards (designed by moi) featuring a photo taken from her parent's lake house in Michigan.

It smelled wonderful to open - the fabric pouch is filled with lavender from her mother's garden. Inside there is soap and apple butter (both from Michigan) a pretty wine topper and a few packets of tea.

Don't you love getting unexpected and thoughtful gifts in the mail? I know I do!!
