Confession: I have my heart set on some wallpaper for our new place.
There's a few places in mind I think large patterns would really work. First, we have a tiny powder room downstairs with nothing going on — aside from a wide mirror I found at IKEA, we have no ideas for what to do to bring some life to this space. Love the idea of doing a really large print in such a tiny space - so that it fills the room with a really happy feeling.
One option for the powder room is this print, show at left, Its a metallic silver-on-silver, which we used as table runners from our wedding. Luckily, we had one extra roll left over and with the size of the bathroom, it might be a perfect fit.
And today, I found this floral via Housemartin which would be ideal for the wall surrounding our spiral staircase. Since we have a duplex, the wall goes from the first to the second floor, and we've been searching for a print that would tie in both levels. With all the grey paint, I think this could be a serious contendor.
by Sanderson, the "Pom Pom" Pattern also comes in this fuschia/brown colorway
Another contendor is Perroquet for the wall behind the staircase. I originally spotted it in Domino magazine, as the entryway to editor Rita Konig's apartment.
Designed by her mother, Nina Campbell, I think the black colorway would be look amazing next to the staircase.
One last idea could be to insert paper into the center of the wall moulding. It looks pretty amazing, don't you think?
