Kate & Tom

Last night we attended a really sweet wedding for one of john's co-workers, Kate and her husband Tom.

They invited 50 of their closest family and friends to The Farm on Adderly for a cocktail and dinner celebration.

The Farm is full of really cool interior details, lots of original brickwork, a darling outdoor garden and the bar was full of amazingly cool looking liquor bottles, many of which I've never seen before!

Kate and Tom asked each guest to write wishes on cards and the cards were displayed at the entrance around a large oak tree.

Many of the guests included kids - and they had an adorable kids table setup with paper, crayons and lots of stickers. It was a perfect solution to keep the little ones occupied.

The tables were covered in black cotton with red dahlias punctuating the glass and crystal decorations. Tealights provided a beautiful glow to the entire restaurant.

The food was superb - I had short ribs with polenta (which I kinda normally don't care for), and a salad of eggplant shreaded very thin in white balsamic dressing. On top, crunchy onions and garlic lended the salad a taste of an everything bagel - it was delish! For dessert, we had strawberry pairfaits and banana upside down chocolate cake, topped with some coconut ice cream.

Kate and Tom added a lot of great details - from the wishing tree to the escort cards, which were origami paper cranes, reflected her Korean heritage.Their cake topper, a figurine Princess Leah and Hans Solo, was an ode to this creative couple, who met in the comic book section of a bookstore.
